Generate a new Quest, then the contents of each Corridor or Room as you explore.
This is not only a generator to play HeroQuest without an Evil Wizard player, it's a system for creating infinite new dungeons with any custom rules imaginable!
Traps cannot be pre-hidden on the map. Heroes can search for traps to ensure a room or corridor is clear (keep a track of which areas have been searched). If not cleared, any player that rolls a 1 on a movement die triggers a trap. Generate the trap.
If a hero searches for traps they may also find Secret Doors. Generate the secret doors found. If the heroes are stuck the next area searched automatically reveals a secret door.
For each room opened roll a standard die then add the number of rooms explored so far. If the total is 10+ that room contains the mission objective. Otherwise it is the very last room explored or the last room you have a door for. (Adjust that number for shorter or longer quests)
The "Save data" and "Load data" buttons at the bottom of each page allow you to save all the information on a generator you have edited as a text file. Likewise you load a previously saved set and use or edit it later. This generator will not remember you edits otherwise if you return to this site or reload the page.
These rules are not rigid. Don't have the piece it asks for or it doesn't make sense? Don't place it. You can randomly roll where doors and blocked passages are placed or put them wherever you like. Just have fun.
Everything in this generator is created from the following lists. You can easily modify them, adding or deleting entries to customise your dungeon however you like. Each line separated by a return is an item that will be chosen at random.
The data here uses a "mad lib" style word replacement to generate new a varied quests.
